For the last year and a half we've been waiting to adopt. There have been a few interested birht-moms but nothing really went past the short-list phase.
Last week, we got a call. We're the first pick, they want to meet us and she's due within the next week or two. Chaos ensued within the sushi household. Last Wednesday we met with the mother and everyrhing was perfect.
Monday we got the call that she was having contractions and was in the hospital and having contractions. We rushed there and camped out in the waiting room for about 7 hours. We got word that nothing much was going on in the birthin' dept. so we headed home to freak out some more until we crashed. Just before we went to bed, we got the call - a 10.5 lb. healthy baby girl.
Ten fingers, ten toes, no horns, no tail, etc.
This morning (Tuesday), we headed back and finally got to go up and see her. I could write volumes about what a perfect little thing she is but you can pretty much see for yourself below...

If all goes according to plan, we take her home tomorrow as foster parents and may get full custody as soon as Friday. Things could still go wrong but everything is looking good at this point. Until then, I'll reserve my use of gratuitous exclamation points.

Part 1
I was really impressed after reading the following statement but it turned to be a completely true one. A woman from US - Nancy Haseman has gathered in a garden (actually, her own private home garden) - 334 bunnies. That is exactly the number of animals that were hopping around her yard. The following number was discovered by a special animal officer.
Frankly speaking, the animals were spotted occasionally, because last month a neighbor complained about rabbits eating her garden. According to the woman her husband rescued a rabbit 12 years ago and afterwards they started rescuing bunnies.
However, she claims that they keep the males separate from the females, but sometimes the situation gets out of control

I have never thought such unusual things are possible … But looking at this cutie wearing a top hat it seems to me that dogs’ weddings are completely real. Would you like to attend one?

I may become a cake designer. Below is the birthday cake I did for Emmelie, a four in one metal master piece: “ANVIL meets Metallica’s RIDE THE LIGHTING meets MOTORHEAD meets SPINAL TAP” theme.
