These paintings help people heal… If you have ever lost a pet you know… you hope that you will meet again and if not, you want your best little buds to be in doggy heaven.
50.00 watercolor on paper 5 by 7

Here you can see the three paintings I have been working on. I just finished this “Tribute to Monet” piece. The tribute to Monet series has about 15 paintings so far and I’m not sure when I’ll decide this series is complete. I’ve explored this water theme for a while and combined with my Koi paintings, you’ll see that water is in many of my paintings. Simply put, I find water fascinating.
Of course with my Geisha series I have painted about 5 or 6 paintings so far and I would say at the very least, I’m having a difficult time finding my way thru these paintings. I have another few hours to work on the “Geisha Red” piece which is the white face and lips and I probably have less than a day’s worth of actual painting on the large wave and Geisha piece. I can’t figure out where I’m going with this series and I don’t know why I even care… I’ve painted hundreds of Koi and taken them in every direction but for some reason I feel a need for a road map with the Geisha series. I have yet to decide the actual name for this painting. I guess I’ll sleep on it.

I love the pattern on the Koi at the bottom, I borrowed this pattern from Asian Tattoo artists who sometimes draw or paint Koi in this manner.
I’ve been busy all week planting and cleaning up my yard. I try to get as much done now while the good weather is here so I can avoid the heat of summer. Don’t get me wrong I love summer, just not the humidity!
This morning on my walk I saw a pretty big hawk and later while gardening, I saw another, three black birds were chasing off the one near my yard. The other? I assume he was hunting and I interrupted his attempt for a bunny or chipmunk.
looking ahead, I plan to paint the tree that I drew while at the lake last week, I’ll try to post it soon.
Seeking Additional Gallery Representation
I am currently seeking additional galleries to show my work for sale. If you are interested in having my work in your gallery, or can recommend a gallery that shows work of a similar genre or style, please write to me and tell me the name and phone number of the person to contact, and I will follow up on your referral immediately. All referrals are greatly appreciated.

I thought I would take a photo of my studio since its half way cleaned up… I’m working on my geisha series. Doing my research of course and that includes hiring models to wear the kimono and make up for my reference photos. I’ve purchase 2 kimono and a obi, also you can also see the Geisha wig on top of the book shelf. Another thing I’m working on is Yupo paper…
Since we (me and 14 other artists…(please sign up now, I need more people) are going to Wild Acres in September and the class instructor will be teaching figures on yupo, I thought I would show Leagh Anne ( my apprentice) how the stuff works. Check it out, its September 25, 26, and 27th. The Charlotte Art league is the sponsor. (www.wildacres.org ). I’ve just finished the dog painting “bad hair day” its in front… its 18 by 24 Gallery wrap.
Then I have a larger painting, A koi painting from the Koi series, its on top of the flat fine, It needs some more glazing and it will be completed… its an Oil painting.
On my small table easel is the yupo painting, its far from being finished but it is what it is, a painting in the early stages.
Then the top photo is the view at mid day of my Koi pond out the large sliding glass window…
I’ll post the paintings when I finish them, thanks for stopping by and take a look at the Art league’s site.

This 11 by 12 inch painting won’t be finished till next week because I’ m painting this as a demo for an art student. This is the first day’s work, next week I’ll put in some negative painting, some glazing, direct painting, splattering and possibly some scrubbing or lifting. Check back to see the changes.
